Ice Cream Disaster

We made ice cream for a get-together with some friends on Labor day. Or, I might say we tried. Here's a picture of me cooking the mixture prior to ice-creamification.

Now, you might be wondering, "Ge Charlie, I'm not sure what would represent a so-called 'ice cream disaster', but just hearing you put those words together makes me think you are a bit dim." And you'd be correct. I'll say this only once: I had to throw out about half of the ice cream. Let me repeat, I had to throw out half of the ice cream. I deamed the remaining product "unfit for non-family humans" and we brought store-bought ice cream to the party.

Contamination was the problem. I suspect a mechanical engineer is to blame. The rotating action of the axis stirrer shaved aluminum dust from the roof of the canister which rained down into the center of the ice cream mixture and was stirred in to the mix. I'm actually not sure how I'm going to get back up and running with my ice cream making equipment. Maybe I can grease it or wax it or something.

Anyway, it was a terrible shame and a humiliating defeat. I'm going to have to make a bunch of little batches of ice cream to compensate.

In happier news, my softball team won 26 (maybe 28, I don't quite remember) to 6 tonight. We batted twice and defended 3 times. I felt like I got an excellent running workout.

Tomorrow will be my first of 4, 1 hour Tai Chi sessions.

All I know is that I have to get my body to the UFM Banquet Room (wherever that is) at 5:30 on Wednesday. It feels very mysterious. I'm very curious if there will be homework.

That guy in the picture does look a little bit like a ninja!

I'm sad about the ice cream, too. I still haven't decided if I'm brave enough to eat the non-gray portion, especially since it looks like it was metal and not oil.

Ooh, the word verification is easy this time!

Edit: I still missed it -- how is that possible??

Ahhh....that's too bad about the ice cream. I would still eat it. 'Cause I love any and all ice cream.
